Permit to Enter and Carry out a Specified Activity on Heard or McDonald Island - Australian Government

Description

You will require this permit if you intend to enter the Australian Territory of Heard and McDonald Islands or undertake certain activities within the Territory.

This permit covers any activity to:

  • bring any organism into the Territory
  • engage in conduct that results in death or injury to, or interference with, any organism in the Territory
  • remove from the Territory any organism indigenous to the Territory
  • land an aircraft, drive a vehicle or sail a vessel in the Territory
  • leave any equipment, material or refuse in the Territory
  • introduce, remove or interfere with any soil or other geological matter from the Territory
  • interference to any buildings, historical relics, equipment, supplies or survey markers in the Territory
  • interfere with a scientific experiment that is the subject of a permit in the Territory.

Please be aware that the Territory extends to twelve nautical miles from the islands' coasts.
