Prescribed Radiation Source Licence - Australian Government

Description

You will need this licence if you are contracted by the Commonwealth to deal with controlled material or controlled apparatus.

A controlled apparatus includes:

  • an apparatus that produces ionizing radiation when energised
  • an apparatus that produces ionizing radiation because it contains radioactive material
  • an apparatus which produces harmful non-ionizing radiation when energised.

Controlled material means any natural or artificial material which emits ionizing radiation spontaneously.
