Procedure Design Certificate - Australian Government

Description

You will need this certificate if you intend to operate as a certified flight procedure designer. Certified flight procedure designers design instrument approach and departure procedures, including:

  • the qualifications and training required for persons engaged in instrument flight procedure design
  • the procedures to be used by organisations in the conduct of design work
  • provisions for on-going maintenance of procedures.

A procedure design certificate certifies that the person is authorised to develop designs for terminal instrument flight procedures of a type covered by the certificate subject to any conditions set out in the certificate. All designs need to be approved by an authorised designer.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this certificate you must:

  • provide a written statement specifying the types of terminal instrument flight procedure proposed to be covered by the procedure design certificate
  • provide a written statement setting out the name, qualifications and relevant experience of the individual who is proposed to be the chief designer of your organisation
  • provide a written statement setting out the qualifications and relevant experience of any other member of your personnel whose duties would include carrying on design work under the certificate
  • provide a copy of the operations manual under which you propose to design, or engage in design work on.
