Public Weighbridge Licence - Australian Government

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to operate a public weighbridge. A weighbridge is a measuring instrument of one or more platforms that determines the mass of vehicles or livestock and has a measuring capacity of three tonnes or more.

A public weighbridge licence demonstrates the holder has a suitable weighbridge, as well as the competency to operate the weighbridge.

A licence may be granted to individuals, partnerships and companies who are able to satisfy the legal requirements for a public weighbridge licensee.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • complete a recognition kit to gain a Statement of Attainment
  • undergo a criminal history check and submit a National Criminal History Report
  • provide details of all employees that will be operating the weighbridge
  • have the weighbridge inspected to ensure that it is suitable for use as a public weighbridge.
