Recognition of Fellows of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners - AG - Australian Business Licence and Information Service

Description

You may require this recognition if you intend to practise as a general practitioner and claim Medicare benefits.

A medical practitioner may apply to be included on the Agency's list of recognised Fellows of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP). A medical practitioner on the Fellows List can use or request a larger number of items on the Medicare benefits schedule. The Medicare benefits schedule details the type of medical treatment certain medical practitioners can prescribe and which the government will contribute toward the cost of providing.

Eligibility requirements

You must provide evidence that you are a current Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP).

Duration

A practitioner can remain on the Fellows List until they are removed at their own request, or by failing to meet the RACGPs minimum quality assurance and continuing medical education requirements.
