Description

You will need this registration if you operate a registrable Australian body, and you intend to carry on business outside the jurisdiction in which it was incorporated.

Registrable Australian bodies include body corporates that are not companies, recognised companies, exempt public authorities, corporations sole, foreign companies or financial institutions. Certain unincorporated bodies can also be registrable Australian bodies.

An association which is registered under a State law not recognised in other States will generally be a registrable Australian body.

Application process

Lodge

Please lodge your completed application with a certified copy of the Certificate of Incorporation or Registration and a Certified copy of the body's Constitution (which are not more than three months old), and a list of Directors.

If your body does not have a Constitution you can submit a letter from your place of incorporation stating that your body is not governed by, or is required to have, its own written constitution.
