Registration of an Aerodrome - Australian Government

You will require this registration if you intend to operate an aerodrome with a runway that can only support aircraft:

  • with a maximum passenger seating capacity of less than 30 seats
  • with a maximum carrying capacity of less than 3,400 kilograms.

If you operate an aerodrome that is over the above mentioned capacity limits, you will need to apply for certification rather than registration.

Service type

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this registration you must provide a written statement that is signed by an approved person stating that they have performed a safety inspection and the aerodrome meets the applicable safety standards for operation.
