You will need this approval if you intend to hold an event that may include unclassified films, computer games or unclassified publications that contain material that should be restricted to adults.
Only events that have been registered will be able to legally exhibit unclassified material. Films, computer games and publications that have already been classified in Australia do not need to be registered to meet the requirements of the Classification Scheme.
A registered event must wholly or mainly involve or relate to the screening of films, demonstration of computer games, display of publications or, multiple types of media.
For all registered events, films and computer games that would likely be classified with an age restriction must be restricted to the relevant persons. A clear and legible notice about the relevant age restrictions must be prominently and publicly displayed at the event.
Each unclassified film can only be screened a maximum of four times per state or territory during the course of a registered event.
