Security Sensitive Biological Agent (SSBA) Standards (SSBA Standards) - Australian Government

Description

You will be required to comply with this standard if you intend to handle security-sensitive biological agents (SSBA). SSBA are biological agents which could be developed or retained in types and quantities that could allow it to be used as a weapon. All biological agents which are considered to be SSBA are included in a list of SSBA, maintained by the Agency.

These standards set out requirements for the handling, storage, transport and disposal of SSBAs, and the security status of individuals who are entitled to handle or dispose of SSBAs.

Please consult the Contact Officer for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance that may be required.
