Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA) Accreditation - Australian Government

Description

You will require this accreditation if you intend to design or install Grid Connected PV systems (GCPV), Grid Connected Battery Systems (GCBS) or Stand Alone Power Systems (SPS). You must be accredited under the SAA Scheme in order to be eligible for small-scale technology certificates (STCs). 

There are different types of accreditations:

  • grid connected photovoltaic systems (GCPV)
    • design only
    • install only
    • design and Install
  • grid connected battery systems (GCBS)
    • design only
    • install only
    • design and Install
  • stand alone power systems (SPS)
    • design only
    • install only
    • design and Install
  • wind (small scale)
  • hydro  (micro / small scale).

Licence

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this accreditation, you must:

  • hold adequate public liability insurance
  • have completed the required training
  • hold a current electrical licence
  • hold a working safely at heights certification.

Ongoing eligibility requirements

To continue to be eligible for this accreditation you must complete at least 100 points of approved training in the following 12-month period.

Duration

Provision accreditation is valid for 6 months. Full accreditation is valid for 3 years.
