The directions aim to reduce exhaust emissions of sulphur oxides and other particulate matter from cruise ships berthed in Sydney Harbour. Surveyors regularly conduct checks of cruise ships visiting Sydney Harbour to ensure compliance with the conditions of the issued directions.
