You will require this licence if you are the owner of a network unit that is used to supply telecommunications carriage services to the public, such as telephony or internet. If required, you can arrange for another party to take on the responsibilities of a carrier for a network unit by applying for a nominated carrier declaration.
If you are the operator of a facility, or you resell services from a facility then you will not be required to apply for a carrier licence.
A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.
To eligible for this licence you must be a constitutional corporation, eligible partnership or public body.
