You will need to register for a tax file number (TFN) if you intend to work and earn a wage in Australia. Any person that earns a wage in Australia is required to pay some of their income to the Australian Government in the form of tax.
A TFN is a unique number issued by the Australian Government for all entities with a potential income tax role. Its primary purpose is to identify you for tax purposes in all dealings with the Australian Government.
