Trade Measurement Servicing Licence - Australian Government

Description

You will require this licence if you intend to test and verify measurement instruments used for trade, or employ verifiers in the running of your business.

Verifiers service, repair, test or confirm the integrity or correctness of measuring equipment used for trade purposes. There are various classes of servicing licences available, including but not limited to:

  • length measuring instruments
  • area measuring instruments
  • masses
  • measures of volume

There are also supplementary servicing licences relating to control systems for weighbridges, liquid measuring systems, and point of sale systems.

Eligibility requirements

A licence may be granted to individuals, partnerships or body corporates who are able to satisfy the legal requirements for a servicing licence.

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • undergo a criminal history check and submit a National Criminal History Report
  • provide details of all employees that will be operating as verifiers
  • have an approved quality management system
  • comply with any conditions issued with the licence.
