Unique Vessel Identifier - Australian Government

Description

You will need to apply for a unique vessel identifier if you work with or own a domestic commercial vessel. All domestic commercial vessels legally require a unique vessel identifier.

Vessel identifiers are used by the Agency, marine safety inspectors and other vessel operators to identity domestic commercial vessels. Vessel identifiers also assist with search and rescue purposes or if your vessel is lost or stolen.

Unique identifier requirements are depended on the type of vessel.
