National Code of Practice for the Humane Shooting of Kangaroos and Wallabies for Non-Commercial Purposes - Australian Capital Territory


You will be required to comply with this code if you intend to shoot a kangaroo or wallaby for a non-commercial purpose. These requirements include:

  • Minimum requirements of firearms and ammunition;
  • The point of aiming when intending to shoot a kangaroo or wallaby;
  • Procedure for targeting more than one kangaroo or wallaby when shooting; and
  • Euthanasing an injured kangaroo or wallaby.
