Pharmacy Medicines Rural Communities Licence - Australian Capital Territory

Description

You will require this licence if you intend to operate a pharmacy business in a rural community within the Australian Capital Territory.

The licence entitles the holder to issue, obtain, possess or sell licensed medicine by retail in a rural community. For the purposes of this licence a rural community is any community more than 25km by the shortest practical route to the nearest community pharmacy.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • Submit a written application
  • Provide evidence the business carried out will be of selling goods by retail
  • Provide information that the premises conducting the sale, will be more than 25km by the shortest practical route to the nearest community pharmacy
  • Have the approved knowledge, training and experience
  • Comply with any other requirements that may be set.

Duration

Licences are usually issued for 1 year, however up to 3 year licences may be available subject to some limitations.
