Accreditation of Veterinarians for Livestock Export - Australian Government

Description

You will require this accreditation if you are a veterinarian intending to conduct animal health procedures and certification for approved export programs.

Accredited veterinarians ensure the health, welfare and safety of eligible live animals and eligible animal reproductive material is adequate for export activities.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible to receive this accreditation you must:

  • Be registered under the law of a state or territory as a veterinarian, veterinary practitioner or veterinary surgeon;
  • Have completed Animal Health Australia's Accreditation Program for Australian Veterinarians (APAV); and
  • Successfully complete Animal Health Australia's Online AAVet course.

To be accredited to undertake shipboard work you must also be an Australian citizen.
