Code of Practice for Radiation Protection in the Application of Ionizing Radiation by Chiropractors (2009) - Australian Government

You will be required to comply with this code if you are a chiropractor using ionizing radiation in your procedures or the person responsible for the chiropractic practice.

The code establishes the responsibilities of:

  • The responsible person, who may be a natural or legal person, and bears ultimate responsibility;
  • The chiropractor, who justifies, optimises and authorises the exposure; and
  • The operator, who radiographs the client.

It also outlines radiation protection principles and the establishment of a Radiation Management Plan.

Please consult the Contact Officer for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance that may be required
