You may be required to comply with this code if you are the manufacturer of hazardous substances that are intended to be used on board trading ships. This code has been superseded by NOHSC: 2011 (2003).

A manufacturer of a hazardous substance must ensure that a material safety data sheet is prepared before the substance is supplied. The material safety data sheet must be prepared in accordance with this code.

The purpose of this code of practice is to provide advice on the preparation of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). The aim is to provide consistent health and safety advice to persons who could be exposed to hazardous substances and Dangerous Goods.
