Radiocommunications (UHF CB Radio Equipment) Standard 2011 (No. 1) - Australian Government

You must comply with this standard if you intend to manufacture, supply, sell or modify an ultra-high frequency (UHF) radiocommunications device, other than a repeater, on the 477 MHz citizens band.

The purpose of this standard is to ensure radiocommunications equipment achieves a satisfactory level of performance prior to use. The technical requirements of this standard are drawn from the AS/NZS 4365:2011 (Radiocommunications equipment used in the UHF citizen band radio service).

Please note that you may be exempt from this standard if:

  • You are importing a radiocommunication device for the sole purpose of use at a significant event; or
  • It is a multi-role device operating on frequencies other than those specified by the Agency as part of the citizens band radio services.

Please consult the Contact Officer for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance that may be required.
