You will require this registration if you intend to register as a broker in order to arrange for another person to supply goods or technology listed in the Defence and Strategic Goods or Technology List (DSGL). Brokering is when a person or organisation acts as an agent or intermediary in arranging the supply of DSGL goods, software and technology between two places located outside of Australia. For the activity to be considered brokering, you must receive money or a non-cash benefit or advance their political, religious or ideological cause for arranging the supply.
Controlled goods include items such as:
- propellants and constituent chemicals for propellants
- military ground vehicles
- production equipment for rockets and missiles.
Once you are registered as a broker, you will need to fill out the seperate application for a permit to export controlled goods and technologies.
Please consult the Contact Officer for more information.
