South Wales. A specialist practitioner has an exceptionally high level of skill
in a branch of veterinary science above that of a regular practitioner.
A veterinary practitioner provides:
medical or surgical treatment of disease or injury in animals
- advice on the
health and welfare of animals and public health and safety of animal food
veterinary science branches include:
- Emergency care
- Anatomical pathology
for registration as a specialist veterinary practitioner are assessed by the Australia-wide veterinary board and are approved by your state's veterinary board.
