Electrical Contractors Licence - Northern Territory

Description

This licence is required by persons, companies, partnerships, or associations who wish to undertake electrical contracting work. An individual who wishes to become an electrical contractor must also hold a NT electrical workers licence endorsed 'Electrical Mechanic'. Companies or associations must nominate at least one of their members as being the qualified Technical Nominee that is the holder of a NT electrical workers licence endorsed "Electrical Mechanic'.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility Requirements

Individual or nominee should:

  • hold current NT Electrical Workers Licence endorsed 'Electrical Mechanic';
  • have held Electrical Workers Licence endorsed 'Electrical Mechanic' for a minimum period of 24 months and have successfully passed the approved Contractors Course; and
  • be able to provide evidence of 2 years recent experience as Electrical Mechanic (either copies of Certificates of Compliance signed and/or a reference letter and/or work history that can be verified).
  • Company/Partnership/Associations must give proof of currency of business (current ASIC Extract of Company or similar document).
  • If trading with a Business Name, evidence of currency of this to be advised (Extract of NT Registered Business Name).

Duration

Annual (expires 12 months from date of issue).
