You will require this accreditation if you intend to issue biosecurity certificates in NSW. Biosecurity certifiers can issue biosecurity certificates to individuals and organisations in NSW. Biosecurity certificates ensure that:
- an area or thing is free from biosecurity matter, or contains a specified level of, any stated biosecurity matter (such as a specified pest, disease or contaminant)
- biosecurity matter or any other things in a specified condition
- biosecurity matter has been treated in a specified matter
- biosecurity matter meets any other specified requirements.
Compliance with this accreditation system ensures that biosecurity certificates are issued in accordance with the Biosecurity Act and Regulations.
