You will need this licence if you intend to transport paying passengers by aircraft to or from Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport over a regulated route. This licence authorises you (the operator) to provide scheduled air passenger services over a particular route for a specified period of time. Only one airline will be issued with a licence for each regulated route.
This licence is not required for interstate routes, intrastate air routes not linked to Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport, and routes that have been deregulated. An up-to-date list of routes that have been deregulated is available on the Agency website, but generally includes airports serving large regional centres.
Charter operators do not need to hold this licence.
