To be eligible to apply for a permit you must:
- provide proof of identity (if no other NSW firearms licence or permit is held or has been held)
- submit the application form with the required documentation
- submit a business declaration form
- submit a legitimate reason form with the required documentation
- pay any required fees.
If you have never held a firearms licence or permit in NSW, or you do not currently hold an equivalent issued firearms licence or permit interstate, you are required to complete a firearms safety training course and provide evidence of this with your application. Further eligibility criteria will vary depending on the type of permit you are applying for.
