You will need this licence if you intend to supply animals for use in research and teaching. The term "supply" encompasses obtaining, breeding, nurturing, keeping and transporting animals.
A licence is not needed to supply exempt animals, including:
- livestock (sheep, cattle, pigs, poultry, horses and goats)
- animals that are in the wild
- animals that fit the criteria described in the regulation.
A licence is needed for the breeding and supply of all other animals.
