Description

You will require this approval if you intend to install, alter, disconnect or remove a water meter connected to a service pipe. Water meters measure the volume of water that passes from a service pipe into a property. Service pipes deliver cold water to a property from a water main or well.

Please note that plumbing and drainage work can only be carried out in NSW by individuals that hold the relevant professional licences.

Depending on which authority controls the water supply network you intend to connect to you will need to contact the local Council, the Sydney Water corporation or the Hunter Water corporation for further information about this approval.
