Approval to Fluoridate a Public Water Supply - New South Wales

Description

You will need this approval if you supply water to the public and intend to add fluoride to the water. You must be a water utility company to gain this approval.

Water fluoridation is the upward adjustment of fluoride in water to optimal levels to help prevent tooth decay.

This approval will allow you to add fluoride to a public water supply, or modify an existing fluoridation plant.

Your application must be made using the forms contained in the Code of Practice for Fluoridation of Public Water Supplies.

Once a written request to NSW Health has been made, you must submit completed application forms to the Director General of NSW Health.

If successful, the Director General will sign an instrument of approval that sets out the terms of the approval and publish a notification in the Government Gazette.
