Approval to Install an Oil or Solid Fuel Heating Appliance - Council of the City of Sydney - New South Wales

Description

You will need this approval to install a fixed domestic oil or solid fuel heating appliance. This does not include portable heating appliances. Approval allows the council to ensure that the installation and any related construction, complies with the applicable standards, and to ensure that minimum health safety standards have been observed.

A domestic oil heating appliance is an electrical heating appliance that is filled with oil, but does not burn oil to produce heat. A solid fuel heating appliance is an appliance that releases heat through combustion. Solid fuels include wood, peat and coal. A portable appliance is an electrical heating appliance which is not filled with oil or other substance that is used to produce heat through combustion.
