You will need this approval if you operate a registered training organisation (RTO) that intends to issue food safety supervisor (FSS) certificates.
Please note that you must ensure that your RTO does not allow any person to conduct training related to the FSS certificate unless they have been approved to do so in writing by the Authority.
All businesses that deal with potentially hazardous, ready-to eat food that is not pre-packaged are required to appoint at least one FSS. The types of food businesses that may need to have a FSS are restaurants, cafes, takeaway shops, caterers, bakeries, pubs, clubs, hotels and supermarkets (hot food sales).
