Eligibility requirements

Eligibility for this approval will depend on a number of factors. When assessing your application, the council will consider:

• the effect a car park may have on the movement of vehicle and pedestrian traffic
• the need to provide off-street parking facilities within the car park for the temporary accommodation of vehicles
• whether the proposed size of the car park will accommodate the proposed number of vehicles
• whether the means of ingress and egress and means of movement within the car park are satisfactory
• whether there will be adequate provision for pedestrian safety and access for people with disabilities
• whether the internal design of parking facilities and system of traffic management are satisfactory
• whether adequate ventilation is provided or to be provided
• whether the safety of staff and customers will be in line with relevant work health and safety legislation
• whether there will be adequate provision for the management of stormwater and the minimisation of stormwater pollution.
