Approval to Undertake Works on or Near Roads - Wollondilly Shire Council - New South Wales

Description

Certain works on or near roads require approval. The type of work requiring approval includes but is not limited to:

  • erecting, removing or interfering with a structure, work or tree on a public road 
  • digging up or disturbing the surface of a public road 
  • pumping water into a public road from adjoining land
  • connecting a road (whether public or private) to a public road.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

The following information must accompany applications for a Section 138 consent for works within the public road:

 

  • a copy of approved Traffic Control Plan for works within the public road reserve
  • a copy of Public Liability Insurance in an amount of $10,000,000
  • copies of work experience of the contractor wishing to do the job
  • copies of permits for work zone speed reduction if applicable.
