Approved Inspection Station - Vehicle Inspection Reports - New South Wales

Description

You will need this approval if you intend to use your premises to carry out tests or inspections on excessively noisy motor vehicles.

When someone reports a noisy vehicle, the registered owner is issued with a vehicle inspection notice (VIN). A VIN requires the registered owner to present the vehicle for inspection at an approved inspection station. The purpose of the approved inspection station is to determine if the vehicle's exhaust noise level, noise control equipment, and pollution control equipment comply with legal requirements. Once the testing and inspection has been completed, the approved mechanic will issue a report that outlines the results and send to the Authority for final review.

Please be aware that all mechanics who carry out tests and inspections at your approved inspection station must be approved.
