You will need this registration if you intend to provide Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) Services. ART services include:
- ART treatment
- the storage of gametes and embryos for use in ART treatment
- the obtaining of a gamete from a gamete provider for use in ART treatment or for research in connection with ART treatment.
ART treatment means any medical treatment or procedure intended to procure pregnancy in a woman, including artificial insemination, in-vitro fertilisation, gamete intrafallopian transfer and any related treatment or procedure. Separate approval is required to provide ART treatment using a donated gamete obtained from the donor more than 15 years before the treatment or using donated embryos created more than 15 years before the treatment.
