Bush Fire Safety Authority - New South Wales

Description

You will require this authority if you intend to:

  • Subdivide bush fire prone land that could be used for residential or rural residential purposes (for example, building a house); or
  • Undertake development that is a Special Fire Purpose development of bush fire prone land (for example, building a school, child care centre, hotel, retirement villa).

Bush fire prone land is any section of land that has been designated as such by your local Council.

This authority permits you to undertake the above activities and will help to ensure that your development complies with standards regarding setbacks, provision of water supply and other matters that the Authority considers necessary to protect people, property or the environment from bush fire danger. Eligibility requirements

To be eligible you must:

  • Complete the application form;
  • Provide suitably scaled site plans showing existing buildings and proposed works;
  • Pay any fees;
  • Provide any relevant photos; and
  • Provide any other submission requirements or prescribed information that the Contact Officer may require.
