Commercial Fishing Boat Requirements - New South Wales

Description

You will need to comply with the following standards if you wish to operate a commercial fishing boat.

A commercial fishing boat must display the letters 'LFB' on both sides of the outside of the bow or wheelhouse. The letters must be displayed clearly in a colour that contrasts the colour of the boat.

If the boat is more than 7.5 metres long and used in ocean waters, the letters must be at least 300 mm in height and 150 mm in width. If the boat is less than 7.5 metres long, the letters must be at least 150 mm in heig

A tender or dinghy carried on a commercial fishing boat must display the letter 'D' on both sides. The letter must be at least 50 mm in height.

Unique Vessel Identifiers (UVI) should be displayed as required by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA).
