You must apply for this registration if you operate a business that provides community services and employs one or more people. Registration provides employees in the industry with long service leave entitlements. These entitlements are portable between employers.
If the main purpose of your business is to provide a community service, all employees of your business are covered under the long service leave scheme. This includes those delivering community services, those working in admin or management, and those hired to perform labour work.
If the main purpose of your business is not to provide a community service, only workers who carry out community service work are covered under the long service leave scheme.
