Consent for Disposal of Regulated Material - New South Wales

Description

You will need this consent if you intend to dispose of any regulated radioactive material. Regulated radioactive material includes:

  • sealed source devices
  • ionising radiation apparatus
  • any radioactive substances.

You cannot dispose of any radiation apparatus unless the apparatus has been rendered permanently inoperable.

Generally, sealed radioactive sources that are of no further use can be returned to their source supplier or manufacturer, or sent overseas for recycling or reuse.
