You will require this approval if you intend to clear land that contains native vegetation. Clearing is defined as cutting down, felling, thinning, logging, removing, killing, destroying, poisoning, ring-barking, uprooting or burning native vegetation. This includes:
- any type of ploughing that kills native ground-cover
- the under-scrubbing of native forests
- herbicide spray drift that kills or destroys native vegetation
- thinning of native woodlands.
You will not require this approval for land that is excluded from the Act, including:
- national parks
- other conservation areas
- State forestry land
- urban areas.
