You will need this consent if you own land and intend to carry out long-term development on coastal protection works.
Coastal protection works aim to reduce the impact of coastal hazards and can include seawalls, groynes revetments and beach nourishment.
Please be aware that, if there is a coastal zone management plan in place, you will need to comply with its requirements. You should contact your local council and the State agency to ensure you meet your obligations.
If you intend to reduce the impacts of coastal erosion on your property during small storm events, then you should apply for a Temporary Coastal Protection Works Approval.
Please consult the Contact Officer for more information.
