Construction Induction Card (White Card) - New South Wales

Description

You will need a construction induction card (White Card) if you intend to carry out construction work. Construction work includes any work carried out in connection with the construction, alteration, renovation, maintenance, or demolition of a structure.

People who need a card include:

  • site managers
  • supervisors
  • surveyors
  • labourers
  • tradespeople
  • people who access operational construction zones
  • workers whose employment causes them to routinely enter operational construction zones.

Construction workers can also work in New South Wales using valid construction induction cards issued by other states and territories.

Licence

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this card, you must:

  • be at least 14 years of age
  • successfully complete general construction induction training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO)
  • provide your trainer with 100 points of identification.

You will be given a statement from your RTO to use as proof that you have completed the training that can be used until you receive your card. This statement is valid for 60 days.

Duration

Perpetual unless you have not done any construction work for two years in which case it will be cancelled.
