Contract Cleaning Industry Employer Registration - Long Service Leave - New South Wales

Description

You must apply for this registration If you operate a contract cleaning business and employ workers to perform cleaning work (on wages or salary). Registration provides employees in the industry with long service leave entitlements. These entitlements are portable between employers.

As a registered employer, your obligations will include:

  • notifying the Agency when a worker starts or finishes working for you
  • paying a levy of 1.7 per cent of the ordinary wages of your workers
  • providing the Agency with a list of all workers that are registered as working for you.

Eligibility requirements

This registration is for companies, partnerships, sole traders, trusts and other forms of employing entities that employ workers on wages or salary to perform cleaning work.

You are not eligible for this registration if you are:

  • engaged solely to supervise workers
  • a partner in the company partnership
  • a director of the company
  • a trustee of the company trust
  • under a contract of service with a Commonwealth, State, Territory or local government authority
  • employed on wages or salary by the owner of the premises you clean.
