Description

You will need this licence to operate a conveyancing business. Conveyancing work is legal work carried out in connection with any transaction that creates, varies, transfers or extinguishes a legal or equitable interest in any real or personal property (for example, the sale or lease of land, sale of a business or grant of a mortgage).

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence:

  • each director must be a fit and proper person to hold a licence
  • no director or officer of the corporation is to be a disqualified person
  • the corporation must be fit and proper to hold a licence
  • the corporation must not be disqualified under the Act
  • at least one of the directors of the corporation must hold an individual conveyancer's licence
  • the corporation must be covered by an approved professional indemnity insurance policy.
