Environment Protection Licence - New South Wales

Description

You may need this licence if you intend to undertake certain industrial, manufacturing, agricultural, transport, extractive or waste related activities that may impact upon the environment.

You will require this licence if you intend to carry out:

  • a scheduled activity (premises-based or not premises-based activities)
  • scheduled development work

If you intend to carry out more than one scheduled activity, you must apply for a licence for each activity.

A scheduled activity is an activity listed in schedule 1 of the legislation, such as:

  • an activity regulated by a Chemical Control Order (CCO)
  • petroleum exploration, assessment and production
  • chemical production and storage
  • mobile waste processing
  • road construction

Scheduled development work is work carried out on the premises at which scheduled activities take place.
