Fatigue Record Keeping Exemption Permit - New South Wales

Description

You will need this permit if you operate or drive a fatigue-regulated heavy vehicle and intend to be exempted from fatigue record keeping requirements.

A fatigue-regulated heavy vehicle is a:

  • motor vehicle with a gross vehicle mass (GVM) of more than 12 tonnes
  • combination with a GVM of more than 12 tonnes
  • bus that is fitted to carry more than 12 people including the driver.

Drivers of fatigue-regulated heavy vehicles need to follow several record keeping requirements. In some circumstances, this can lead to multiple record keeping systems being kept. In these cases, you may apply for this exemption permit that allows you to upkeep a single record keeping system, rather than all the record keeping systems needed. You must carry this exemption permit when driving.
