Description

You will need this certificate to prove that your building meets the fire safety schedule standards. This certificate needs to be obtained when you erect a new structure or change the use of an existing building.

Please note that a final fire safety certificate must be obtained before a final occupation certificate can be issued for a building.

Lodgement process

All Development Applications and other planning related applications must be lodged electronically via the NSW Planning Portal.

To apply for a Final Fire Safety Certificate you must:

  • register for the NSW Planning Portal
  • complete the online application form
  • pay the prescribed fee.
