Firearm Dealer Licence - New South Wales

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to possess, manufacture, convert, acquire, supply, repair, maintain or test firearms. A firearm dealer is also authorised to possess, manufacture, acquire or supply ammunition for the categories of firearms specified on the licence. There are three types of firearms dealer licences:

  • Firearms Dealer Licence - authorises these activities in the course of operating a business
  • Club Armourer Licence - authorises these activities as part of your duties as a club armourer of an approved firearms club
  • Theatrical Armourer Licence - authorises these activities in connection with film, television or theatrical productions.

Firearms must be maintained in a safe working condition, and all requirements in relation to safe keeping must be adhered to. You must also ensure that any employees authorised by the licence (to possess or use the firearm) are properly trained in safe handling of firearms and suitably qualified to carry out the functions of the licence.
