You will need to comply with these requirements if you are a food delivery booking provider.
Food delivery booking providers (platforms) must provide food delivery riders with:
- high-visibility personal protective equipment (PPE), including a retroreflective outer clothing item and a bag or container for safely transporting food or drink. The garment and delivery bag must comply with the relevant Australian Standard
- induction training which covers hazard and fatigue management, road safety, use of PPE and WHS duties and obligations.
A food delivery rider means a person engaged by a food delivery provider to deliver food or drink and who delivers the food or drink using a bicycle or motor bike.
Platforms:
- do not need to provide PPE if the rider is able to use PPE already provided by another platform
- must maintain records of the provision of PPE and induction training
- provide each rider with a training record which verifies that the rider has successfully completed induction training.
